A bipartisan delegation of staff for the Senate Finance Committee and its members will head to Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam next week to discuss the ongoing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations, according to a Senate aide.

The aide said the focus of the trip is TPP and trade more generally. One private-sector source said the delegation would include 15 staff members, while another said it would include both committee staff and legislative aides for individual Finance members.
The trip comes the same week as economic ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and their key trading partners are meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
