Clinton is wrong to support trade deals

Despite the absurdity of many aspects of the Republican Party platform, there is still one issue where Hillary Clinton and the Democrats are highly vulnerable.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is hated and feared by a majority of American voters for good reasons. By handing over control of all three levels of our government to greedy multinational corporations, it threatens to wipe out nearly all of our benefit and protection laws, regulations and programs, including our Social Security program.

So in spite of Hillary’s claim to be opposed to the TPP “in its present form,” her delegates’ actions last weekend show that she (and they) really don’t mean it. The Democratic Party platform in its present form reveals what their real priorities are — to pass (with the support of “the best politicians that money can buy”) Obama’s dishonestly promoted and sociopathic TPP, as well as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and the Trade in Services Agreement, as soon as possible after Clinton becomes president.
