Paul Ryan thinks he can convince Trump to like trade agreements

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) believes Republicans in Congress can work with Donald Trump on trade if the GOP nominee wins the White House.

Trump has been adamantly opposed to major multilateral trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership and NAFTA, threatening high tariffs for countries like China if they fail to live up to his standards on trade. Many Republicans, meanwhile, have been in favor of TPP and fear the consequences of trade wars sparked by tariff hikes.
