The 114th Congress will be sworn in next week, and the media campaign for President Obama’s next power grab is already under way.
The New York Times, Washington Post and Politico (Tiger Beat on the Potomac) are all telling us the GOP Congress is ready to surrender its oversight responsibilities and grant extraordinary new powers to Obama under the rubric of fast track “trade promotion authority.”

It is the fulfillment of a plan at least six decades in the making.
Fast track would empower Obama to secretly negotiate the TransPacific Partnership and a TransAtlantic global governance agreement and sign them before showing them to Congress. When Obama does send them to the Hill, he would bypass committee hearings, dictate limited debate and outlaw any amendments or filibusters.
While these are labeled as “free trade” agreements, they are in fact a blueprint for international governance that kills American sovereignty and overrides the Constitution. Secretary of State John Kerry admits their purpose is to merge the U.S. economy with other nations, and a White House insider describes them as “the most important institutions that the president will leave as a legacy.” Not to be outdone, Vice President Joe Biden explicitly stated that the TransPacific Partnership fulfills the Obama administration’s vision for a new world order.
The TransPacific Partnership and its kin are the next step in a project conceived decades ago and pursued under both Democratic and Republican administrations. Their goal is to render independent nations null and void, and hand power over to unaccountable, transnational corporatist authorities.
This may sound like a plot lifted from a Bond super-villain, but it was in fact detailed at a congressional hearing in 1967.
George Ball, a globalist of the first order who kept himself busy on Wall Street when he wasn’t undersecretary of state for presidents Kennedy and Johnson, appeared with David Rockefeller at a hearing entitled “The Future of U.S. Foreign Trade Policy” before the Congressional Joint Economic Committee in 1967. They laid out a vision of a corporatist New World Order that did away with outdated “individual national governments.”
Let’s go to the Congressional Record transcript of the hearing. George Ball’s testimony speaks for itself. [Emphasis added]
“Today, a corporate management in Detroit or New York or Dusseldorf or London may decide that it can best serve the market of country Z by combining the resources of country X with labor and plan facilities in country Y – and it may alter that decision six months from now if changes occur in costs or prices or transport. … But to fulfill its full potential, the multinational corporation must be able to operate with little regard for national boundaries – or, in other words, for restrictions imposed by individual national governments.
“To achieve such a free trading environment we must do far more than merely reduce or eliminate tariffs. …
“Implied in this, of course, is a considerable erosion of the rigid concepts of national sovereignty, but that erosion is taking place every day … and I think it desirable that this process be consciously continued. … [M]odern business – sustained and reinforced by modern technology – has outgrown the constrictive limits of the antiquated political structures in which most of the world is organized, … the present crazy quilt of small national states … [C]ommercial, monetary, and antitrust policies – and even the domiciliary supervision of earth-straddling corporations – will have to be increasingly entrusted to supranational institutions. …
“[B]usiness decisions are frustrated by a multiplicity of different restrictions by relatively small nation states that are based on parochial considerations, reflect no common philosophy, and are keyed to no common goal.”
After dismissing the notion that governments represent the interests of their citizens as “parochial considerations,” Ball went on to say the European Union, then known as the Common Market, provided the roadmap to the borderless world he dreamed of. In fact, the EU shows us the “economic integration” now envisioned for the U.S. made the sovereign nations of Europe merely empty flags to be waved at soccer matches, with crucial decision-making powers stripped from national parliaments and vested in transnational institutions unaccountable to citizens.
David Rockefeller, the High Priest of the Eastern Establishment, followed George Ball and echoed his sentiments before the congressional panel.
Rockefeller made the case for merging North American economies in a North American Union and, at the prompting of a congressman named Donald Rumsfeld, advocated giving the president fast track negotiating power so Congress couldn’t get in the way of implementing his globalist plan.

You will find everything Ball and Rockefeller called for in the TransPacific Partnership and on the agenda of the new GOP-controlled Congress. Sen. Mitch McConnell has said he will work with the White House to give Obama so-called fast track trade promotion authority to enact the TransPacific Partnership and its evil twin, the TransAtlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
These Obamatrade agreements are not about “free trade” – they are about creating international regulatory institutions whose diktat trumps the U.S. Congress, the Constitution and even the Supreme Court.
Why would anyone sworn to uphold the Constitution give President Obama the fast track power he and David Rockefeller want him to have?
And why would Republicans, elected on the promise to reign in an out-of-control president, choose to give him even more power?
