Overall employee satisfaction at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is up by 7.5 percentage points from last year, which is still among the lowest for small government agencies, according to the “Best Places to Work in the Federal Government” rankings released Partnership for Public Service.

USTR ranked 24th of 29 small agencies, with an overall index score of 58.5 — its highest since 2010. The median score for small agencies was 66.7. USTR has not had a score above the median since 2009.

The rankings were derived from answers to the Office of Personnel Management’s annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The index score is based on employees’ answers to three questions: whether they would recommend their organization as a good place to work; how satisfied employees are with their jobs; and how satisfied employees are with their organization.
