Gerrish worked under Lighthizer, who previously ran the international trade group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates, and took over as the head of the firm’s trade group when Lighthizer left in late January, the sources said.
According to his Skadden bio, Gerrish has “extensive experience litigating complex antidumping, countervailing duty and safeguards cases before the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. courts, NAFTA binational panels and World Trade Organization dispute settlement panels.”
“Mr. Gerrish has represented clients in industries ranging from steel to geosynthetics, and his cases include the largest-ever antidumping and countervailing duty case against China,” according to the bio.
