We had a great event in San Diego, California last Thursday (10/16/14) called “Manufacturing in the Golden State”. Here is a quick synopsis as well as links to the presentations.

Dan DiMicco, Chairman Emeritus of Nucor Corporation gave the keynote presentation.  Dan pointed out the need to create over 18 million jobs to recover from the recession and achieve full employment.  He also described the challenge of systematic foreign mercantilism and how fixing the problem can help rebuild US manufacturing and employment.

The local business panel included Michele Nash-Hoff, President of Electro-Fab Sales; Scott Martin, CEO of Lyon Technologies; James Hedgecock, CEO of Bounce Composites; and Robert Reyes of Stone Brewing Co.

The national expert panel included Greg Autry, Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship, Marshall School of Business,
University of Southern California; Pat Choate, economist and author, “Saving Capitalism: Keeping America Strong”; Mike Dolan, Legislative Rep., International Brotherhood of Teamsters; and Michael Stumo, CEO of CPA.

The focus of the talks was on national security, manufacturing growth strategies, tax strategies and fixing the trade deficit.
