Washington, D.C. – The Commerce Department released the latest monthly U.S. trade figures Wednesday. The overall monthly U.S. international goods and services trade deficit increased to $43.8 billion in June, from $40.9 billion in May, revised.

- The monthly U.S. goods deficit with China decreased in June to $29 billion.
- The U.S. goods deficit with Japan was $5.2 billion in June.
- The U.S. goods deficit with South Korea was $2.3 billion in June.
- Said Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul:
“The strong dollar remains a heavy burden on the U.S. economy. Cheap imports, combined with weak demand from overseas, hinders growth in America’s manufacturing sector. As exports continue to underperform, it’s past time the Obama administration acknowledged that we have an imports problem.”
