Stan Sorscher is Policy Advisor for the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), a union representing 80,000 workers around the country. Stan has a PhD in physics from UC Berkeley, and lives in Seattle WA.
He served on the Executive Board of the Washington State Labor Council, and was a founding Board member of the Washington Fair Trade Coalition. He represented organized labor on the Puget Sound Regional Council Economic Development District Board. Stan was appointed by the Governor of Washington to the Washington Council on Aerospace, the Board of the Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington, and the Future of Work Task Force.
Stan has been active on trade policy, immigration policy for high-tech workers, workforce development, and has advocated for manufacturing strategies and industrial policy to rebuild US industrial capacity.
